Multigenerational (“multigen”) worship days are important for several reasons, including:
- Kids learn how to worship in community, growing up with comfort and familiarity, so they are more likely to choose this for themselves when they are older
- Multigenerational spaces hold a variety of life perspectives
- Our young people are whole and important members of our community
On average there is one multigen worship day per month during the program year. Here are the dates for ’25/’26:
- September 7th, 2025
- October 26th, 2025
- November 23rd, 2025
- December 21st, 2025: Pageant Day!
- December 28th, 2025 (Holiday week, no RE this day)
- January 18th, 2026
- March 1st, 2026
- April 5th, 2026: Easter, with annual egg hunt after worship!
- May 3rd, 2026
- June 7th, 2026: Bridging (This is the close of the regular RE year)
What to know about multigen worship days:
- Children stay in the sanctuary for the whole service; there is no religious education programming for kids in 7th grade and below on these days.
- The Nursery will generally still be staffed on multigen worship days. Babies and toddlers are invited and encouraged to remain in the sanctuary, but we do recognize that this also may not feel supportive to families. SO, parents/caregivers are free to choose whether to have their babies and toddlers in the Nursery or in worship.
- There are “Soul Work” materials (coloring pages, themed activity packets, books, and toys) on shelves at the back of the sanctuary, for people of any age to use during worship. You are free to access these supplies at any time, during any worship service.
- We do not expect people of any age to be still and silent in church. We do aim to not disrupt what is being offered in worship, and we have tools and resources to help with that. If you need any guidance or would like to chat about this, please reach out to the Director of Children and Family Ministries or another staff member.
